About the role
Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Scheduling, this exciting role as a Truck & Shovel and Dozer Push Engineer at BMC’s Poitrel Mine will challenge your capabilities.Poitrel Mine has a complex & challenging coal resource which means this role will need a solid degree of technical T&S and Dozer Push expertise to succeed in an environment where applying cutting edge technology is promoted and supported.
Working on a 5/2/4/3 roster, the successful applicant will enjoy the flexibility associated with this lifestyle friendly roster.
Successful applicant you will also have:
- Demonstrated experience working in a T&S and Dozer Push capacity in an open coal cut mining environment
- Understanding of T&S and Dozer Push design
- Understanding of haul and dump planning in accordance with mine schedule requirements
- Proficiency with Deswik (essential)
- Proficiency in Haul Infinity (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to work and collaborate across various stakeholders
- Strong MS Office skills.
You will also be a performance and achievement oriented professional, who is motivated by exceeding expectations and providing excellent results.

The Queensland Bowen Basin contains the largest coal reserves in Australia. This major coal producing region contains one of the world’s largest deposits of bituminous coal.
The Basin contains much of the known Permian coal resources in Queensland including virtually all of the known mineable prime coking coal. It was named for the Bowen River, itself named after Queensland’s first Governor, Sir George Bowen.

Caterpillar Haul truck 785
The Caterpillar 785 Haul Truck, Dump Truck or off-road truck as they are called in the U.S. are still used across the world in open-cut mining operations. This huge truck has proven it’s worth for many years and has often been the entry-level truck for new operators.
