About the Role
Cliffs based operations is currently seeking a suitably experienced Senior Mine Surveyor to lead an experienced survey team to even higher levels of excellence. As part of this critically independent mining team, you will demonstrate effective business planning, appropriate design, compliance to business processes and an ongoing focus on cost effectiveness, as well as advanced leadership skills. Reporting to the Underground Mining Superintendent this role manages the Survey department to provide services mainly to the Cliffs underground operation but extended to the Mt Keith open pit operation, in a safe and timely manner to facilitate production and exploration activities to the standards set by BHP Management in accordance to regulatory specifications. This is a key leadership role that provides coaching and mentor ship to direct reports.
About you
- A current Authorized Mine Surveyors Certificate Grade 1
- Proven surveying experience in the mining industry preferably underground, surface infrastructure and exploration working environments.
- Competency in Leica Total stations, Optech CMS, C-ALS and Gyro equipment and familiar with the use of underground Back and Wall station control is preferred.
- A high level of technical ability, attention to detail and planning and organization skills.
- Strong communication skills and experience with Surpac is highly advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- A current WA Drivers license is required and a Senior First Aid ticket is highly regarded. Ideal candidates will have

Cliffs underground Nickel Mine is an integral part of Nickel West Leinster comprising of a nickel concentrator and dryer, located 12 kilometers south of Nickel West Mt Keith.
