Mining Engineer / Senior Mining Engineer Underground Mining Experience
An international mining house is seeking an experienced Underground Mining Engineer on contract FIFO BNE/TVL
An established international mining house that focuses on the development and extraction of base metals is seeking an experienced Underground Senior / Mining Engineer on an initial contract basis to drive their production targets.
Your new role
Reporting into the Senior Mining Engineer this multi-faceted role will see taking on responsibility for the Drill and Blast program and short term schedule. This will include but not limited to the performance review of the drill and blast operations; production of high quality plans and designs in line with both schedule and production requirements. This mine is an open stop operation and will require you to liaise with all members of the production and planning team.
What you’ll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering and demonstrated experience working on an underground Hard Rock mine within in a drill and blast or production focused role. Sound technical skills in computing and working knowledge of Deswick will be advantageous
What you’ll get in return

Komatsu 830E Haul Truck
The Komatsu 830E is an ultra class dump truck used in Australian open pit mining operations an is designed and built in Peoria, Illinois by Komatsu America Corporation (parent company is the Japanese held company Komatsu Ltd.
The Komatsu 830E is a beast, with 231,000 kilogram capacity (255 short tons). Although this is a big truck, the 830E's load capacity is about 66% the capacity of the Liebherr T 282C and Caterpillar 797B.
This is an electric truck and is being featured in many new mining operations as well established mines in WA and QLD.The electric drive system is very different fromt the transmission/differential drive of traditional trucks. The diesel engine is connected to a GE traction alternator with high voltage cables transfering electricity to the two wheel motors at the rear of the truck.
