Mining Trade Qualified Auto Electrician Heavy Maintenance Coalfields

Client is Australia’s largest coal miner and exporter, the world’s largest supplier to the sea borne coking coal market and largest coal producer and supplier of metallurgical coal. The client has several mine sites across the Bowen Basin consisting primarily of open cut mines.

About the Role

Reporting to the maintenance superintendent, you will be required to perform auto electrician duties working within the maintenance crew to undertake the maintenance and servicing of heavy machinery.

As a key member of a high performing team, you will play an integral role in implementing the client’s project requirements. You will be highly motivated, reliable and be committed to safe work procedures and continuous improvement principles.

Experience Required:

  • Trade Qualified Auto Electrician
  • Minimum 2 years Mine Site experience
  • Maintenance, diagnostic and installation experience
  • An excellent work ethic, a strong focus on safety
  • High degree of reliability and dedication to providing quality workmanship

Experience on any of the following;

  • CAT, Komatsu and Hitachi mining equipment from Haul Trucks, Dozers, Scrapers, Graders and Excavators.
  • Light to Medium Vehicles

Documentation Required:

  • Auto Electrician Trade Qualification
  • Air Con License
  • Drivers License
  • Current Coal Board Medical
  • Standard 11 Induction Training Induction of Equivalent
  • Forklift Ticket would be advantageous

About the Bowen Basin mining region, Queensland.

The Queensland Bowen Basin contains the largest coal reserves in Australia. This major coal producing region contains one of the world’s largest deposits of bituminous coal.

The Basin contains much of the known Permian coal resources in Queensland including virtually all of the known mineable prime coking coal. It was named for the Bowen River, itself named after Queensland’s first Governor, Sir George Bowen.
