Entry-Level Blast Crew Blackwater, QLD
Mining Blast Crew Blackwater Mine sites Bowen Basin QLD Wesfarmers Curragh Mine and BMA Blackwater mine
Due to recent successes at Dyno Nobel they have mining jobs for Entry Level Blast Crew position in the mining centre of Queensland, the Bowen Basin. These jobs are based at Wesfarmers Curragh Mine and BMA Blackwater mine. You may already live in Blackwater or DIDO to their mine site and stay in camp accommodation during your swing.
The role of a Blast Crew member is to safely and efficiently prepare a shot, this includes but is not limited to shot security, measuring, baiting of holes and back filling. To ensure that you are prepared and confident to perform your role you will receive the right safety training and always be under the supportive and strong supervision of one of Shotfirers.

- BMA Blackwater Mine | Lifestyle Roster 5/4/5/5/4/5 | DIDO or Residential Blackwater
To get this job, you must have:
- A good understanding of the mining industry, in particular Drill and Blast (includes awareness of the various adversities you may face in this role)
- A current Coal Board Medical or the ability to pass (D&A test and Functional Capacity)
- Ability to pass a Qld SSAN Security Clearance
- Standard 11 Induction Training (desirable)
- BMA Core and Site Inductions (desirable)
- Heavy Rigid License (desirable)
You must be comfortable working night shifts as well as committing to a fixed term arrangement (with the potential to continue to permanent).

About the Bowen Basin mining region, Queensland.
The Queensland Bowen Basin contains the largest coal reserves in Australia. This major coal producing region contains one of the world’s largest deposits of bituminous coal.
The Basin contains much of the known Permian coal resources in Queensland including virtually all of the known mineable prime coking coal. It was named for the Bowen River, itself named after Queensland’s first Governor, Sir George Bowen.
The Bowen Basin covers a total area of over 60,000 square kilometres and is located in Central Queensland; running from Collinsville to Theodore. The entire region is home to many coal mines operated by multiple mining companies.
