Sodexo is seeking a highly passionate and suitably qualified safety professional for a HSEQ Advisor role for onsite team located in Far North Queensland.This position will be on a 20:8 roster. FIFO from Brisbane or Cairns.

The position will be responsible for supporting there team on site with the day-to-day HSEQ responsibilities including the implementation of Sodexo’s integrated HSEQ management system and improvement plans. This is a hands-on role requiring the provision of broad HSEQ solutions across a trades and maintenance, catering and cleaning environment.

Your duties will include but not be limited to ensuring legal compliance with legislation, Sodexo’s integrated management system and client HSEQ requirements; continuous improvement, daily HSEQ activities including Toolbox talks and pre starts, reporting, investigations and risk assessments; training of staff and providing technical advice.

You will be Tertiary qualified and have a knowledge of OH&S statutory requirements across a trade/maintenance, catering, cleaning environment along with knowledge of HACCP plans and food safety standards. Exposure to safety management systems coupled with experience in auditing and investigation are required.

The Basin contains much of the known Permian coal resources in Queensland including virtually all of the known mineable prime coking coal. It was named for the Bowen River, itself named after Queensland’s first Governor, Sir George Bowen.

Resources and Infrastructure Industry (RII)

Commonly refered to as Black Coal Competency (BCC), the RII competency is one that can be attained by an operator who has previously worked in the industry and has completed a number of operating hours on various types of machinery.

RII competency is granted to prove correct and safe operation of mine site machinery. It is a very useful qualification to have, as it confirms the operator has the required experience and expertise.
