HSEC Superintendent – FIFO Mining Brisbane/Townsville

JDR Mining & Civil are currently seeking an experienced HSEC Superintendent for a permanent position with there client, working between two North QLD mine sites.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the primary purpose of the role is to deliver Health, Safety, Environment and Community outcomes for two mining operations, while meeting set targets and influencing people at all levels of the business to achieve business goals.
This position is very hands on, currently there are no subordinates so the successful candidate must be willing to carry out and any all tasks within the job scope.
The ideal candidate will have a strong surface mining background and qualifications in Safety and/or Training & Assessing. Experience in a maintenance and/or crushing environment would be highly regarded.
The mining operations are located in Cloncurry and Charters Towers, FIFO will be offered from Brisbane or Townsville, with meals, accommodation, phone and laptop provided. Your time will be split between these sites in line with their individual requirements.
Day to day duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Establish, lead and monitor health, safety, environment and community programs and systems while achieving a reality of Zero Harm
- Be responsible for maintaining risk and compliance components for new and existing employees
- Delivery of short term inductions
- Assisting with VOCs for new workers
- Administrative tasks to complete the above, as required
Applicants with experience using Sixes software would be highly regarded, as would those who possess mobile machinery RII certificates.
Roster will be 2/1, a remuneration package of $180k based on skills and experience is on offer for the right candidate.

Resources and Infrastructure Industry (RII)
Commonly refered to as Black Coal Competency (BCC), the RII competency is one that can be attained by an operator who has previously worked in the industry and has completed a number of operating hours on various types of machinery.
RII competency is granted to prove correct and safe operation of mine site machinery. It is a very useful qualification to have, as it confirms the operator has the required experience and expertise.
