Dozer Push Operator – Local Mine Residents

Dozer Push Operator Production Mining <strong>Bowen Basin</strong>

The client is Australia’s largest coal producer and exporter with several coal mine sites located across the Bowen Basin in Queensland. This particular company currently has several opportunities available, offering immediate starts to skilled and experienced personnel with a high safety performance.

Your new role

Starting immediately, this role will see you operating CAT D10 and D11 Dozers within the Production Overburden Department on site pushing dirt, setting up pads, building roads, moving dirts and swinging buckets.

What you’ll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will have previous mine site experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills whilst holding skills for the Caterpillar Dozers. As well as holding current RIIMPO308D (Conduct Tracked Dozer Operations), you also must have a current Coal Board Medical and Standard 11 Induction Training; or willing to obtain.

What you’ll get in return

This role requires you to operate machinery in a crucial service department of the mine site and working 12.5 hour shifts on a Lifestyle Day and Night Roster.

For all of the hours you work on site, you will be paid superannuation. There is also an opportunity to receive a Temp Worker Recognition Bonus Payment after 6 months of continuous work.

Please Note – This role does not provide any accommodation and you will be required to have residence in Blackwater or Emerald. Please only apply if you meet these requirements.

About the Bowen Basin mining region, Queensland.

The Queensland Bowen Basin contains the largest coal reserves in Australia. This major coal producing region contains one of the world’s largest deposits of bituminous coal.

The Basin contains much of the known Permian coal resources in Queensland including virtually all of the known mineable prime coking coal. It was named for the Bowen River, itself named after Queensland’s first Governor, Sir George Bowen.

The Bowen Basin covers a total area of over 60,000 square kilometres and is located in Central Queensland; running from Collinsville to Theodore. The entire region is home to many coal mines operated by multiple mining companies.

Resources and Infrastructure Industry (RII)

Commonly refered to as Black Coal Competency (BCC), the RII competency is one that can be attained by an operator who has previously worked in the industry and has completed a number of operating hours on various types of machinery.

RII competency is granted to prove correct and safe operation of mine site machinery. It is a very useful qualification to have, as it confirms the operator has the required experience and expertise.
