Diggers & Dealers 2012 Mining Conference

Diggers & Dealers 2012 mining conference

Diggers and Dealers mining conference is underway in the remote mining town of Kalgoorlie, WA.

The 20th annual Diggers and Dealers mining conference looks to be the largest yet, with a record breaking 2400 delegates descending on the gold-rush town of Kalgoorlie. This annual mining conference combines presentations by ASX listed mining and exploration companies as well as a large exhibition area with exhibitors from the mining, exploration and service sectors. The Forum has evolved into an mammoth mining industry event due to the continuing support of the industry leaders worldwide.

The delegation is made up of mining and exploration companies, investors, financiers, brokers, bankers, and mining service industries. A 70 strong media contingent always makes sure that the proceedings are widely reported.

The big attraction of the event, however, is the large number of corporate mining deals being conducted, fine tuned and concluded. Multi-million-dollar transactions have been done on the conference sidelines, more often than not sealed with a handshake over a beer.

The keynote address – will be given by the former managing director of the International Monetary Fund, Rodrigo de Rato. The macro-focused address sets the tone for the whole event, triggering many debates around the scepticism or otherwise of the economic outlook for the mining sector in Australia.

The conference was a sell out with ticket prices for the full 3 day event costing $1700.00.
