Bengalla has an amazing opportunity for Trainees in the Upper Hunter Valley.

Applications are being sought from those who would like to undertake a Certificate III Surface Extraction Operation Dump Truck Program, at the Bengalla Mine site near Muswellbrook, NSW.

To be successful in this position, you will have a strong and honest work ethic and be able to demonstrate a personal commitment to safety.

Successful applicants will be employed by WorkPac, and will join the production team at the local Bengalla mine site as a Dump Truck Operator.

Candidates must be able to provide a residential address located within 60km of Muswellbrook on application and have a full manual drivers licence.

Bengalla is a single pit open cut mine, using a dragline, truck and excavator method. The mine’s employees work in shifts to keep the mine operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Geologically the operation is situated in a Permian basin called the Sydney basin, and mines the Whittingham Coal Measures of the Hunter Coalfields.

In 2015 Bengalla produced 8.318 million tonnes of thermal coal. After washing and preparation for sale, the coal is loaded onto trains and transported to the Port Waratah Coal Terminal in Newcastle where it is shipped to international customers.

Bengalla had JORC run of mine coal reserves totalling 269 million tonnes (163 million tonnes proved and 106 million tonnes probable) as at 31 December 2014.
