Mining Trades – Qualified Diesel Fitter & Support
- Based in Mackay Mine Shop
- Working Monday to Friday – days & night shift rotation

About the Role
Reporting to Leading Hand, various positions available on a 12 months Fixed Term Full-time offering Monday to Friday rotation days and night shifts with available overtime.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- The primary focus of this role is to repair, rebuild, and overhaul a range of Caterpillar equipment within the Mine Shop
- Take all reasonable steps to ensure that assigned tasks are free of faulty workmanship, assuring quality in the finished product
- Ensure repairs are carried out using the appropriate control guidelines to ensure that rework jobs do not occur.
- Ensure all assigned tasks are completed within required target times
- Determine reusability of all disassembled parts
- Provide assistance to other trades persons in carrying out daily tasks
You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:
- Trade qualified Diesel Fitter with at least 3 years’ demonstrated experience with Caterpillar machinery/equipment
- Experience on Caterpillar Diagnostic Systems (ET, SIMSi and SIS)
- Maintain a high level of workplace health and safety at all times
- Capable of working both in a team and autonomously, in varied environments
- Exceptional communication skills
- A desire to learn and continually improve, as well as the ability to think outside the square
