Alkane Resources has revealed in has received NSW Government approval for its Tomingley gold project near Dubbo, which will create up to 350 new mining jobs. The Tomingley gold mine project will consist of one underground mine and 3 open cut pits.
Indications are construction of the mine is due to start in September and will take about a year to complete. The mine would have a life of around ten years and would create employment of some 200 to 250 of the new jobs created during the construction phase, with another 100 permanent roles in mining operations.
Almost all of the mine jobs will be sourced from the local area, and Alkane Resources said the Tomingley project could be producing gold by the middle of 2013.
