About the role

Thiess is seeking Multi-Skilled and Excavator Operators for permanent employment opportunities at their open cut coal mining project, Peak Downs.
Peak Downs Mine is located 6km south-east of Moranbah in the Bowen Basin.

Roster & Conditions
Roster is 7 days on, 7 days off rotating shifts
12.5 hour day shift/ 12.5 hour night shift
Permanent Position
A bus will be provided from Mackay & Townsville to site
Salary sacrifice flights available

About you
To be considered for these opportunities you are required to have:
Prior experience operating production mining equipment on a mine site eg, Trucks, Graders, Dozers, Excavators
Relevant coal mining certifications
A commitment to a positive safety culture
Be committed to our principles of Integrity, Accountability, Innovation & Delivery

About the Bowen Basin mining region, Queensland.

The Queensland Bowen Basin contains the largest coal reserves in Australia. This major coal producing region contains one of the world’s largest deposits of bituminous coal.

The Basin contains much of the known Permian coal resources in Queensland including virtually all of the known mineable prime coking coal. It was named for the Bowen River, itself named after Queensland’s first Governor, Sir George Bowen.

The Bowen Basin covers a total area of over 60,000 square kilometres and is located in Central Queensland; running from Collinsville to Theodore. The entire region is home to many coal mines operated by multiple mining companies.
