Mobile Plant Coal Mining Operators
The client is an international market leader in mining and resources with a state of the art facility located at the Townsville Port.
Reporting to the shift supervisor you will be responsible for safe operation of a forklifts up to 7 tonnes as well as CAT 998 loader
As a key member of a high performing team, you will play an integral role in implementing the client’s production requirements. This role is locally based in Townsville.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate Forklifts up to 7 tonne
- Operation of CAT 988 Loader
- Pre-start checks
- Operate equipment safely
- Follow company policies and procedures
Skills/Experience
- 3 years operating experience in fast paced production environment
- Current High Risk FL licence
- Front End Loader ticket (recent experience on CAT 988 preferred)
- Current Townsville Port Induction (or willingness to obtain)
- Production oriented with a focus on achieving results for both yourself and for the company
- High levels of initiative and the ability to work well under pressure
- Your key focus is safety with a high attention to detail to abide by site procedures.

Caterpillar Haul truck 777
The Caterpillar 777 is a 100-ton haul truck, typically used in open pit mining, manufactured by Caterpillar Inc. The first model of Caterpillar 777 was introduced in 1974. Its diesel engine is capable of putting out 870 horsepower. The 777D, introduced in 1996, was powered by a 938-horsepower diesel.
This truck is one of the entry-level haul trucks most new operators will learn on. Once competent, they will move up to the larger 785, especially when working on a coal mining site.
