About the Role
Thiess is currently searching for a motivated and energetic Mining Supervisors to lead mining crews to ensure daily operational mine plan objectives are achieved at the Q-Coal Northern Hub.
In this role you will be responsible for delivering and exceeding production KPI targets in a safe and efficient manner. You will have a strong focus on achieving results and actively seek continuous improvement, driving a culture of safety and efficiency with like-minded professionals.
To be successful in this role you will require the following:
- Open-cut coal mining experience

Roster and Location
7/7 site-based position at the Q-Coal Northern Hub which is situated in the Bowen Basin in the Whitsunday Island region of Central Queensland, about 100 km south of Bowen and 6 km south of Collinsville. Thiess’ has successfully been operating at this site for over 10 years with strong leadership and operational teams.

The Queensland Bowen Basin contains the largest coal reserves in Australia. This major coal producing region contains one of the world’s largest deposits of bituminous coal.
The Basin contains much of the known Permian coal resources in Queensland including virtually all of the known mineable prime coking coal. It was named for the Bowen River, itself named after Queensland’s first Governor, Sir George Bowen.
