Maintainer Wagon Mechanical – FIFO to Port Hedland

Roy Hill represents the next generation of integrated iron ore mine, rail and port ­­­operations in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Situated approximately 340 kilometers south east of Port Hedland, world-class operation is the only independent iron ore business with West Australian majority ownership.

With a defined mineralisation of more than 2.4 billion tonnes of high grade iron ore, enough to sustain a mine life of more than 20 years, Roy Hill is introducing a new wave of innovation, technology and knowledge to Australia’s iron ore industry.

Roy Hill’s independently owned and operated railway is a 344km standard gauge, single line, heavy haul railway built to transport 55Mtpa of iron ore from the Roy Hill Mine to the dedicated Port stockyard facility in Port Hedland.

Utilizing state-of-the-art train loading systems and the fastest rail car dumpers, the Rail division is a leading example of our innovation and technology investments. Roy Hill is seeking an experienced Maintainer Wagon Mechanical to work as part of the rail maintenance team.

You will respond quickly to equipment and mechanical issues, minimize downtime and improve reliability in a safe and efficient manner.

You will also undertake:

• Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.
• Wheel set machining plan as scheduled.
• Responding to rolling stock breakdowns.
• Inputting of maintenance data and time-sheets into SAP in a timely manner.
• Assisting with the recovery of all Rolling Stock.

About you

As the ideal candidate, you will have extensive experience working in Rolling Stock maintenance and you will ideally have further experience working on fuel tank cars, track machinery and in wheel lathe operation.

You will also have:

• An Australian Recognized Trade Certificate.
• Current WA drivers license.
• Forklift, EWP, Overhead Gantry Crane and Dogging license.
• The ability to adapt to constantly changing priorities and a team focused attitude.
