About the Role
WorkPac have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Trainer/Assessor for an immediate start within the Bowen Basin. This position will be ongoing, on a 5/4/4/5 roster with an immediate start. Camp and Meals provided if required.

Duties and Responsibilities
Training and Assessing Coal Mine Workers
General operating of equipment
Actively ensure own health and safety and the health and safety of others through understanding and implementing workplace health and safety obligations
Any other duties appropriate to the level and responsibility of the position as required
Good written and communication skills, demonstrated motivation and flexibility and be able to take responsibility for all work tasks
Be a self-starter who shows initiative and works well in a team environment
Effective time management skills and the ability to stay focused under pressure

About the Bowen Basin mining region, Queensland.

The Queensland Bowen Basin contains the largest coal reserves in Australia. This major coal producing region contains one of the world’s largest deposits of bituminous coal.

The Basin contains much of the known Permian coal resources in Queensland including virtually all of the known mineable prime coking coal. It was named for the Bowen River, itself named after Queensland’s first Governor, Sir George Bowen.

The Bowen Basin covers a total area of over 60,000 square kilometres and is located in Central Queensland; running from Collinsville to Theodore. The entire region is home to many coal mines operated by multiple mining companies.
