Mining Excellence Underground Coal Mine Brisbane QLD
The Principal – Mining Excellence (Underground) role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Underground mining professional to join Anglo American Metallurgical Coal’s Technical department, and drive technical and operational excellence in underground mining.
Reporting to the Manager – Mining Excellence, you will be accountable for the health of the Underground Mining Discipline. You will identify and deliver improvement programs across systems, processes and capability to achieve benchmark operational performance and business value.
You will utilize your extensive mining knowledge to research, assess, develop and implement technology improvements, and will be accountable for reviewing major plans, and proposals at Metallurgical Coal Business Unit mine sites. You will also be required to leverage your exceptional leadership and stakeholder engagement skills to create synergies across the operations, transferring leading practice and driving collaboration.
To be successful in this role, you will hold tertiary qualifications in Mining or a related technical discipline, and will have held Senior Leadership positions in Operations or Technical Services. You will have extensive underground experience gained across a number of mining operations and will have a demonstrated ability to apply technology and innovation to drive improvements in operational performance.
The successful incumbent will possess a high level of critical strategic thinking, planning and complex problem solving skills. Strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills will also be key to your success in the role.
A very competitive salary package is on offer for this position. This is a Monday to Friday position based in the Brisbane Corporate Office, but will require regular travel to our underground operations.
