About the Role
They are searching for a experienced Tyre Fitter to join the East Weipa HEQ team and help excel at safely by maintaining a reliable heavy mobile equipment fleet. The HME Fleet currently consists primarily of 776D, 777F 777G haul trucks and rear tippers, 992 and 993 loaders, and D11 dozers.
Duties and Responsibilities
This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with a strong commitment to safety to be part of a collaborative team. Working a 12 hour Day/night 7:7 roster and reporting to the Crew Leader, you will be:
- Maintaining all aspects of Tyre maintenance at East Weipa mine site.
- Be flexible and provide leave coverage of other tyre fitters on opposite shifts.
- Undertaking maintenance activities including Tyre changing, checking Tread depths.
Working with an on-line Tyre monitoring system. - Maintaining records from Tyre maintenance duties.
Skills/Experience
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Cert 2 in Heavy tyre fitting or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience as a Tyre Fitter
- Strong safety focus
- Good communication
- Heavy industrial environment

Caterpillar Haul truck 777
The Caterpillar 777 is a 100-ton haul truck, typically used in open pit mining, manufactured by Caterpillar Inc. The first model of Caterpillar 777 was introduced in 1974. Its diesel engine is capable of putting out 870 horsepower. The 777D, introduced in 1996, was powered by a 938-horsepower diesel.
This truck is one of the entry-level haul trucks most new operators will learn on. Once competent, they will move up to the larger 785, especially when working on a coal mining site.
