About the Opportunity

Due to continued growth, Onetrak now has multiple, full-time opportunities for Diesel Mechanics to join their team as Field Service and Workshop Technicians. These roles are based across the Onetrak sites at:

  • Yatala (Brisbane, QLD)
  • Tumut (Snowy Mountains, NSW)
  • Mt Gambier (SA)
  • Brighton (Hobart, TAS)

Working across four main industries – construction, forestry, material handling and quarry & mining, you will perform repairs and maintenance on a range of machinery including fault finding, hydraulic repairs and rebuilds. The industry focus will vary slightly from site to site, however will include working on (but not be limited to) feller bunchers, skidders, forwarders, mobile crushers, dozers, excavators and wheel loaders.

The positions at Hallam, Tumut, Mt Gambier and Brighton all have onsite workshops and larger onsite teams that can assist you with extensive product knowledge and parts support. However, the Yatala based role will require someone with the ability to work autonomously as you will be working in a very small team conducting all field service repairs from your well-equipped vehicle.

About You

To be considered for the Field Service positions you must be a trade qualified, heavy vehicle mechanic with post-trade experience in mobile plant, including hydraulic and electrical knowledge. Ideally, you will have come from a construction/mining/forestry background, with experience working on this type of machinery, however candidates from a light vehicle, automotive background will also be considered, providing they have 3 plus years experience in earth moving, forestry or mobile equipment.

Mechanics who are new to these industries will also be considered for workshop positions, where you can gain the hands-on training required to progress into a field service role.

These positions require excellent diagnostic and repair skills and a strong commitment to meeting customer requirements whilst ensuring safety and quality measures are being met at all times.
