Electrical Mining Maintenance QLD

Electrical Maintainer Well established and expanding mine site Cohesive and supportive team Residential Role Only (No FIFO) – Weipa About the role.They are searching for an Electrical Maintainer to join Electrical maintenance services team, a division of the Rio Tinto Weipa Electrical Workshop.

This role is a permanent role and the successful applicant will be required to relocate to Weipa on a full time basis.

This role is a great opportunity to perform electrical tasks that align with preventative maintenance and safety strategies, as well as deliver timely breakdown services to all internal clients.

Reporting to the Electrical Maintenance Crew Leader, you will be:

• Performing daily task based risk assessments
• Mentoring apprentices with both work experience and safety
• Completing fault finding and maintaining general low voltage circuits and non-production related plant and equipment
• Completing general low voltage circuit additions, modifications and installations
• Undertaking airport and traffic system maintenance, repairs and upgrades
• Completing after hours cal louts as per call out roster

 

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

• A current Queensland Electrical Fitter/Mechanic License or similarly recognized qualification that can be transferred
• A current manual “C’ class drivers license
• Previous post trade experience in mining or a similar industry An outstanding attitude towards safety

It will also be beneficial if you have:

High risk work licenses such as EWP, Forklift and Dogman’s

Working at heights and confined space competencies Airport Lighting experience MSIC and ASIC clearances .Where you will be working. Rio Tinto Weipa is located 900km north-west of Cairns on the Gulf of Carpentaria and has been operating for over 50 years.
