Diesel Fitters Coal Mine site Operation Department
An opportunity exists for a skilled and experienced mine site Diesel Fitters who will form part of and contribute to the Mine Operations Department of an open cut coal mine in the Bowen Basin.
Requirements:
- Minimum 6 months mine site experience
- Knowledge and Experience working on Heavy Mining Machinery Draglines, Shovels, Excavators and Small
- Mining Machinery Haul Trucks, Water Trucks
- Trade Qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter
- Current Standard 11 Induction Training or willing to obtain
- Current Coal Board Medical or willing to obtain
- Current Driver License
- A willingness to work rotating roster
- Ability to contribute and work positively in a team environment
- Sound Work History

- 7/7 roster straight shifts
- Camp and Meals Provided – NO COST

The Queensland Bowen Basin contains the largest coal reserves in Australia. This major coal producing region contains one of the world’s largest deposits of bituminous coal.
The Basin contains much of the known Permian coal resources in Queensland including virtually all of the known mineable prime coking coal. It was named for the Bowen River, itself named after Queensland’s first Governor, Sir George Bowen.
The Bowen Basin covers a total area of over 60,000 square kilometres and is located in Central Queensland; running from Collinsville to Theodore. The entire region is home to many coal mines operated by multiple mining companies.
