Heavy Duty Mobile Plant Mechanics
Blue Tongue specialises in hiring & training Light Vehicle Mechanics to become Heavy Duty Mobile Plant Mechanics for the mining sector. With over a decade of work-force planning and skills development we have become known as the “go-to” boutique employer for Light Vehicle Mechanics that are searching to break into mining sector.
We currently have 12 full time positions with Blue Tongue for LV mechanics to work as Heavy Duty Mobile Plant Mechanics. Candidates will partake in an 8-week intensive training course in Perth which will provide you with the hands-on heavy repair and hydraulics experience. Training is due to start Mid January 2021. These positions will be with Leading Mining contractor MACA and also Consolidated Minerals who is a leading Owner Miner.
This is a unique program and a golden pathway for motivated and experienced car mechanics to achieve their big break in a role that provides practical up-front training and on-going career opportunities with one of Australian s leading Mining Contractors.
Selected employees will be exposed to working on site on various types of repair. Opportunities to work on-site in various parts of WA will open up once you have gained a level of confidence and proficiency.
Successful applications will need to demonstrate:
- A certificate 3 in Light Vehicle Mechanic – Australian AUR Qualification (minimum)
- Previous experience with dealer and/or independent workshops
- At least 3 years post trade experience
- Recent proven hand on experience as a mechanic
- Strong employment stability
- Previous exposure to heavy machinery will highly regarded
- Electrical and hydraulic knowledge is highly advantageous
Once you are qualified and have real experience in repairing and diagnosing various parts of mobile machinery, you will be given opportunities to work on-site. Shifts will be working on a 2/1 roster FIFO from Perth.
All applicants will be required to participate in a pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol screening and national police clearance.
