The Grosvenor Mine Technical Services Team is searching for an experienced Ventilation & Gas Professional who is searching for the opportunity to utilize their strong drive, technical capability and talent for leadership to step up into this critical role and drive the Ventilation & Gas performance of the mine.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will be responsible for the management and control of the underground mine ventilation & gas systems. As the leader of a team of ventilation & gas professionals, your key deliverables will include ongoing design, planning, implementing and monitoring of system effectiveness against legislative and corporate requirements as well as driving performance in your team. You will develop short and medium term plans which align to the mine business plan and overall ventilation strategy. You will undertake and participate in a variety of ventilation & gas projects for improvement of mine operations and will provide technical assistance in order to ensure hazard identification and risk assessment principles are firmly applied to all processes to ensure a safe underground working environment.

To be successful in this role, preferably you will possess a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) and formal qualifications as a Ventilation Officer. You will have significant experience in an underground coal mining operation as well as specialist knowledge in ventilation & gas management. You will have demonstrated leadership skills with an ability to drive tangible performance in your team. Your strong commitment to health, safety and environment standards, strong planning and influencing skills will be key to your success in the role.

Caterpillar Haul truck 777

The Caterpillar 777 is a 100-ton haul truck, typically used in open pit mining, manufactured by Caterpillar Inc. The first model of Caterpillar 777 was introduced in 1974. Its diesel engine is capable of putting out 870 horsepower. The 777D, introduced in 1996, was powered by a 938-horsepower diesel.

This truck is one of the entry-level haul trucks most new operators will learn on. Once competent, they will move up to the larger 785, especially when working on a coal mining site.
