The Endeavor Mine (Zn-Pb-Ag) is an underground mine that commenced operation in 1983 and was acquired by CBH Resources in 2003. Later in 2010 CBH Resources was wholly acquired by their parent company Toho Zinc in Japan. With extensive smelting businesses in Japan, CBH Resources and Toho Zinc are highly synergistic partners in what is an excellent time for vertically integrated zinc metal companies.
It has been a very busy few months planning for the future here at Endeavor which they can’t wait to share with you. A couple of highlights for you to ponder until they meet.
720,000 tonnes ore per year from an underground mine for at least the next 3 years; 2018, 2019 and 2020 with exploration upside identified that will extend the operation well into the 2020’s.
In addition to retaining the two existing jumbos in operation a development contractor will mobilize in December/January to commence work in January on the decline and level development for newly identified ore resources of more than 1 mt in the deep zinc lode. Some $5.7m of new and rebuilt equipment to be purchased/carried out in January including a brand new jumbo and loader. Over $2.5m per year for the next 3 years will be invested in diamond drilling to extend the reserves.
Construction of a causeway in the tailings dam to support tailings deposition next year and then a wall lift in 2019 that will support deposition out to 2025. Over $20m in the next 3 years on structural steel maintenance projects. Over the next 3 years a total of over $85m in capital is planned that will support the asset for production well past 2020 as they work in realizing the exploration potential with over 40km of strike length held in the highly prospective Cobar basin. They currently have an exciting opportunity to join their underground team as Underground Mine Shift Supervisor both with the mining department.
Duties include:
Day to day management of mine crew guiding crews to complete and meet weekly schedules communicating with cross shift and superintendent working with technical service team managing performances of mining crews Must have at least 5 years experience in similar underground role
