Truck Driver Mining Jobs

Truck drivers use heavy vehicles such as haul packs to transport goods and materials from one area to another. Truck drivers in the minerals industry may perform the following tasks:

  • Check brakes, oil, tyres, electrical systems, water, hydraulics and air;
  • Load, or †supervise loading, †material onto the truck;
  • Transport material to destination, and
  • Maintain log books.


Dump Truck Operator: $60,000 “Ē $105,000+


Entry is generally through a nationally recognised haul truck training course (RIIMPO311A “ď Conduct Haul Truck Operations), a traineeship and/or at least 1 year`s relevant experience.

Mining companies and contractors are the main employers of truck drivers in the mining industry.
