Trades Assistant – Metal – Shutdown

The shutdown is scheduled to commence on 20th July 2016 and is approximately 20 days in length (individual roster duration may be shorter than this). There is another 34 day Shovel shutdown proceeding this.
The successful applicants will have experience assisting tradesmen preferably in a mine site or similar industrial environment. Experience in a shutdown capacity is highly advantageous to applicants. Respirator Fit Tests must be completed successfully prior to commencement of the role.
You must have a strong focus on safety and have the following
- Confined Space
- Working at Heights
- Respiratory Fit Testing (arranged by WorkPac)
- Drivers License
- Current Coal board Medical
- SGS induction (desired)
Living Away from Allowance (LAHA) is able to be applied for by candidates relocating to the area for the duration of the shutdown. This must be specifically approved on a case by case basis, and evidence of accommodation expenses or a statutory declaration must be supplied to be eligible for the payments.
You will be required to work a four (4) on, two (2) off roster, day OR night shift and including weekends. Shifts will be 12.5 hours duration.
Suitable candidates must also be willing to under go a Coal Services Medical prior to commencement.
