Senior Mine Engineer Drill Mining Blast Mount Isa QLD

An underground hardrock mining project in the Mt Isa region of QLD. Operating with a large fleet of UG mining equipment and sizable operations teams this site has been in production for over a decade.

The Location

Opportunity to relocate to Mt Isa in North West QLD and work in a busy mining town. With a population of over 22,000 people Mt Isa is destination for many mining workers to sleep in their own beds every night and progress their careers

Your Duties As Drill & Blast Engineer

  • Manage & team and mentor junior engineer
  • Drill & blast, stope, vertical & horizontal mine planning designs
  • Short term & medium term planning/ scheduling – working closely with other senior Engineers
  • Daily monitoring & recording of production and development progress
  • Preparation of stope notes, development approvals, drilling & blasting plans and service hole approvals

What’s Your Value

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering
  • Experience working in underground hardrock mining
  • Strong experience managing a team/ leadership within Drill & Blast UG Mine Engineering
  • Mining software experience
  • Excellent safety standards

Resources and Infrastructure Industry (RII)

Commonly refered to as Black Coal Competency (BCC), the RII competency is one that can be attained by an operator who has previously worked in the industry and has completed a number of operating hours on various types of machinery.

RII competency is granted to prove correct and safe operation of mine site machinery. It is a very useful qualification to have, as it confirms the operator has the required experience and expertise.
