About the role:
Reporting to the Principal Operations Planning, the scope of your role will be to assume responsibility for the consolidation of the weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual business performance forecasts as well as the five year planning cycle. Additionally, coordinate all relevant business reporting and analysis to monitor performance to forecast and budgets for the Australian group’s results, including review of major cost and profit drivers.
Duties will include:
- Co-ordinate and drive the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes for SG&A (Selling, General and
- Administrative) and provide variance analysis.
- Co-ordinate, review and present SG&A expenditure across all Australian corporate functions on a quarterly basis. Engage with the AU President and AU President direct reports to ensure all parties are actively managing costs.
- Prepare and review monthly business performance analyses and reports for Business Performance Review
- Meetings (BPR). Provide briefing material for the Australian leadership team including EBITDA waterfalls, A$ cost per tonne analysis, Risks and Opportunities, inventory and any other financial analysis and commentary to support internal business review discussions.
- Ensure the timely delivery of monthly forecast information and annual strategic 5 year planning support packs and presentation material to Australia Senior Management and St Louis Head Office.
- Active involvement at monthly mine site forecast review meetings to understand key changes in the forecast from a production and financial perspective.
- Calculate and prepare forecast reconciliations (such as EBITDA and A$ cost per tonne “waterfalls”) against prior forecast, budget, actual, guidance and prior years.
- Prepare and review of quarterly business performance analyses and reports for the PEC board, including preparation of Guidance cost per tonne walk-forwards and other Earnings Release schedules on a quarterly basis.
- Review key financial and non-financial data within the core forecast/budgeting tool (IP) to ensure data integrity (including verifying consolidation, data copies and file validations).
- IP system and Forecast / Budget report maintenance
- Liaise with Marketing, Supply Chain, Infrastructure and other relevant departments to ensure accurate drivers are utilized for the monthly forecast and annual budget process.
- Produce trend analysis and other financial and operational reports to highlight concerns and deliver key messages to senior management.
- Act as a key liaison and support for the Operations, attend weekly production meetings and maintain open lines of communication with SVP Operations and their teams, as well as key site based personnel ie General
- Managers, Commercial Managers.
- Ensure timely reporting of production and financial data for Senior Management to enable decision making.

About You:
- Bachelor Degree in Business / Commerce
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA)
- Proven experience in a financial / operational / business analyst role
- Preferable experience in large mining multinational organization, with multiple jurisdictions
- Strong systems experience in SAP, IP and BW
- Ability to communicate, build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and presentation
- Possess a positive attitude towards teamwork
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, use initiative and be proactive
- Understanding of the mining industry and its value drivers
- Very good analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to plan and prioritize workloads in order to meet tight deadlines
- Maintain a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality
