Operations Mining Manager – Chinchilla QLD
Aurum Contracting is an Australian owned and operated ISO certified civil construction company providing services to Tier one companies in the renewable and traditional energy sectors as well as the oil, gas and mining industries. They are seeking a reliable, experienced, hard working Operations Manager, to manage all day to day operations of plant, equipment and staff on projects through-out the Western Downs region.
About the role
Reporting to the CEO and/or General Manager where necessary, this is a hands-on role, where you will be responsible for coordinating and managing day to day operations for project staff, plant and equipment on all projects based in the Western Downs region.
Duties include:
- Organizing mobilization and demobilization of staff, plant and equipment for projects
- Staff rostering
- Management of project staff, plant and equipment
- Organizing project resources e.g. fuel and consumables
- Organizing repairs and maintenance of equipment
- Ensuring project productivity targets are met
- Ensuring quality compliance
- Ensuring HSE is maintained and project HSE targets are met
- Ensuring all dockets and day works forms are completed and signed off by staff the the client
- Ensuring any/all project variations are captured, documented and signed off by the client
- Completion and submission of any project reports or other project documentation as required by the client or Aurum Contracting

Skills and experience
- Tertiary or Trade Qualification which has been applied to construction roles
- Current QLD Drivers license
- General Construction Industry Induction (white card or similar)
- Ability to demonstrate you are genuinely accountable and proactive
- Minimum two years experience in a similar role
- Flexible can-do attitude
- Demonstrated credibility in management of construction projects with particular experience in oil, gas, energy or mining
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated negotiation skills
- Demonstrated ability to use technology including using smart phones and applications
- Ability to work seven days a week and be on call when on roster
- Demonstrated expert problem solving ability
- Demonstrated ability to be client and business focused at all times
- Able to provide proof of right to work in Australia
- Able to pass a medical/health screen which includes drug and alcohol testing
