Client, a leading Coal producer in the Gunnedah Basin is searching for experienced Operators. The successful applicant will have 4+ years experience in mining or quarry.

Reporting to the Production Superintendent, you will be required to operate mobile plant equipment. As a key member of a high performing team, you will play an integral role in implementing the client’s project requirements. You will be highly motivated, reliable and be committed to safe work practices and continuous improvement principles.

About the candidates

  • Demonstrated experience operating mobile mining equipment including trucks, dozers, graders and excavators in an open cut environment
  • Production and safety orientated with a focus on achieving results for both yourself and for the company
  • High levels of initiative and the ability to work well under pressure.

Please Note: This role is on a rotating roster, day/ night shift including weekends.

The successful applicant will be required to undergo a Coal Board medical and must reside in the local area as this is a residential role

The position commences in approximately 2 weeks however our client would like to interview candidates as soon as possible. The successful person will be subject to a D & A Screen and full Order 41 pre-employment medical.

    • About the Bowen Basin mining region, Queensland.

      The Queensland Bowen Basin contains the largest coal reserves in Australia. This major coal producing region contains one of the world’s largest deposits of bituminous coal.

      The Basin contains much of the known Permian coal resources in Queensland including virtually all of the known mineable prime coking coal. It was named for the Bowen River, itself named after Queensland’s first Governor, Sir George Bowen.

      The Bowen Basin covers a total area of over 60,000 square kilometres and is located in Central Queensland; running from Collinsville to Theodore. The entire region is home to many coal mines operated by multiple mining companies.
