Mining Superintendent Dawson Open Cut Operations QLD

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be required to lead a large open cut mining production workforce in a drive towards a proactive safety culture through the use of Anglo American core values and empowering people to make the correct choices whilst leading by example.

You will be directly responsible for coordinating personnel, equipment and resources to ensure site activities are undertaken in a safe, cost effective and efficient manner in line with agreed operational standards and targets. You will develop, manage and implement robust plans to ensure that the business is able to meet production targets daily and achieve continued sustainability. You will need to focus on mining processes to ensure KIPs are met by closely managing your team to deliver planned targets in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with statutory legislative requirements.

You will be accountable for the scheduling, planning, coordinating and controlling of operational activities and resources in accordance with the approved business plan to ensure the Mine plan is achieved. You will provide strategic mine planning and technical advice on how to optimize the value of mine resources whilst providing leadership and coaching to ensure compliance with site policies and procedures whilst providing a commitment to safety and environment workplace standards.

You will have demonstrated leadership experience within open cut/ open pit mining operations, leading a team of supervisors to deliver against set targets, relevant statutory qualifications and exceptional communication skills. Experience in Dragline, Drill & Blast and Truck & Shovel mining methods will be highly regarded along with experience of leading large production teams.

To be successful in this role it will need to be demonstrated that you have proven safety leadership capabilities; delivery and commitment to visual safety leadership with the ability to operate efficiently, autonomously, and lead and manage a team in the delivery of departmental plans and continuous improvement objectives.
