Mining Jobs – How do I get in front of the right people?

http://youtu.be/8RcUEI8AtIo

Mining training company Industry Pathways, gave us some insights that came about from visiting QME in Mackay. There are lots of mining suppliers looking for staff right now.

Some of the common questions people ask are:

  • How do I get in front of a potential mining employer?
  • Are expo`s a good place to go if you are looking for a job in the mines?
  • So, are people better off targeting smaller companies for job opportunities in the mining sector?

It`s not so much the old adage `who you know not what you know` but also being in the right place at the right time. Mining expo`s are good places to get in front of potential employers.|

“Don`t just target the big mining companies as they can be very hard to get a foot in the door if you are alone”. he said. Individuals are better off targeting smaller companies first if they want to get into mining and secure a well paid mining job.
