About Our Client
Our client is Australia’s largest coal miner and exporter, the world’s largest supplier to the sea borne coking coal market and largest coal producer and supplier of metallurgical coal. The client has several mine sites across the Bowen Basin consisting primarily of open cut mines.
About the Role
WorkPac are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Multi Skilled Operators to commence at a mine near Moranbah. You will be working a 6/6 Roster (3 days on PJ Day, 3 nights on, 6 nights off). Our Client is seeking Operators who have operated and are passed out on CAT 789, 793, or 797 Trucks on a mine site. The candidate must also reside within 500km of the Bowen Basin.
Duties & Responsibilities
Operate CAT 789, 793, 797 Trucks.
Operate D10/D11 & Grader 16/24M
Complete Pre-Start checks on machinery.
12.5 Hour Shifts.

The Queensland Bowen Basin contains the largest coal reserves in Australia. This major coal producing region contains one of the world’s largest deposits of bituminous coal.
The Basin contains much of the known Permian coal resources in Queensland including virtually all of the known mineable prime coking coal. It was named for the Bowen River, itself named after Queensland’s first Governor, Sir George Bowen.
The Bowen Basin covers a total area of over 60,000 square kilometres and is located in Central Queensland; running from Collinsville to Theodore. The entire region is home to many coal mines operated by multiple mining companies.

The 793F has a load cpacityof 226.8 ton (US) and a top speed of 60 kilometres an hour. It's a turbocharged air-to-air aftercooled diesel engine that has enhanced power management capability for maximum hauling performance. The Caterpillar 789 dump truck is typically used in open pit mining. The 789 has a capacity of 177 tonnes, and its engine can produce 1770 horsepower.
