Mining Fitters Fixed Plant Mechanical Trade Assistants <strong>Bowen Basin</strong>

CHAMP Resources are a dynamic Workforce Management Company. They specialize in civil, infrastructure and mining work throughout Australia as well as are a Multi-National Workforce Management Company.

CHAMP Resources are searching for a Fixed Plant Mechanical Fitters and/or Trade Assistants for work within the mining sector for various shutdowns. There client is a global market leader of solutions in measuring and process technologies in industrial weighing, feeding, screening and automation.

Job Description:

As a part of this role you will be required to work across various sites around the Bowen Basin. You will be working on equipment such as; processing plants and conveyors.

They are searching for someone with:  

  • The ability to work under pressure and the ability to multitask at the same time.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Knowledge of plant and safety awareness, commitment to company values.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform within health and safety management systems.

Fitters    

  • Fixed plant experience within mining, quarries, sugar mills, factories and/or processing plants.
  • Experience working on overhaul pumps, install pumps, repair ball and rod mills, repair crushers, install plant and equipment and/or screens.
  • Trade qualifications as a mechanical fitter or similar.
  • Mining experience essential.

Trade Assistants

  • Proven experience performing Trade Assistant duties
  • Mining experience essential.

About the Bowen Basin mining region, Queensland.

The Queensland Bowen Basin contains the largest coal reserves in Australia. This major coal producing region contains one of the world’s largest deposits of bituminous coal.

The Basin contains much of the known Permian coal resources in Queensland including virtually all of the known mineable prime coking coal. It was named for the Bowen River, itself named after Queensland’s first Governor, Sir George Bowen.
