Mining Civil Excavator Operators
Civil Excavator Operators Wanted for major Civil Projects based here in Mackay!
Protech are a leading national recruitment specialist to the civil construction industry, partnering with a number of clients whom are recognized as employers of choice within the industry.
THE ROLE:
They are searching for applicants with extensive experience operating Excavators from 30 to 50 tonne with GPS experience, including bulk earthworks experience, to join growing team on a project in the Mackay region (Contract running for over18 months).
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Previous experience in a similar role – 2 referees to confirm experience
- Current Excavator ticket (RII License or equivalent)
- Drivers License
- White/ Blue Construction Card
- Predominately Civil background
- Must be able to demonstrate that you have experience
- Pass a Pre-Employment Medical including Drug and Alcohol screen
The ability to operate more than one type of plant is desirable but not compulsory. This is a highly sort after role with plenty of overtime available, full time hours available from Monday to Friday. Locals need only apply, though candidates willing to relocate will be considered.

Caterpillar Haul truck 789
The Caterpillar 789 dump truck is typically used in open pit mining. The 789 has a capacity of 177 tonnes, and its engine can produce 1770 horsepower.
There are hundreds of CAT 789 dump trucks on various mine sites in Australia; working hard in open-cut coal mines as well as hauling raw iron ore dirt across the open, dusty mine sites of Western Australia.

Resources and Infrastructure Industry (RII)
Commonly refered to as Black Coal Competency (BCC), the RII competency is one that can be attained by an operator who has previously worked in the industry and has completed a number of operating hours on various types of machinery.
RII competency is granted to prove correct and safe operation of mine site machinery. It is a very useful qualification to have, as it confirms the operator has the required experience and expertise.
