Ongoing positions available for experienced Dump Truck Operators to work at an Open Cut Coal Mine site from Blackwater to Moranbah. You will be working with a Tier 1 Mining Contractor who requires skilled, experienced and safety minded individuals, engaged on a Permanent Full-Time contract.

  • DIDO/BIBO from Mackay, Rockhampton and Townsville
  • 7 days on, 7 off, 7 nights on, 7 off
  • 12:50 hours per shift
  • Super is paid on all hours
  • Accommodation and meals provided

To be successful in these positions you will possess;

  • Demonstrated experience in Operating Open Cut Mine Equipment including the following
  • Mechanical Trucks – Cat, 797, 793, 789, 785, 777
  • Electric Trucks – Komatsu 830, MT4400, Liebherr T282, Cat 795 or similar
  • Proof of prior operating competencies
  • Proof of Australian working entitlement (e.g. birth certificate, passport or citizenship)
  • A strong commitment to safety
  • Adaptability to change as the operation progresses

Caterpillar Haul truck 777

The Caterpillar 777 is a 100-ton haul truck, typically used in open pit mining, manufactured by Caterpillar Inc. The first model of Caterpillar 777 was introduced in 1974. Its diesel engine is capable of putting out 870 horsepower. The 777D, introduced in 1996, was powered by a 938-horsepower diesel.

This truck is one of the entry-level haul trucks most new operators will learn on. Once competent, they will move up to the larger 785, especially when working on a coal mining site.

The 793F has a load cpacityof 226.8 ton (US) and a top speed of 60 kilometres an hour. It's a turbocharged air-to-air aftercooled diesel engine that has enhanced power management capability for maximum hauling performance. The C175-16 is a 16-cylinder, four-stroke design that uses long, effective power strokes for optimum efficiency.

The 793F, is an autonomous-driven truck. Over 100 793F trucks are now operating via Command for hauling, the Cat autonomous truck operations system, which is a part of Cat MineStar™

Komatsu 830E Haul Truck

The Komatsu 830E is an ultra class dump truck used in Australian open pit mining operations an is designed and built in Peoria, Illinois by Komatsu America Corporation (parent company is the Japanese held company Komatsu Ltd.

The Komatsu 830E is a beast, with 231,000 kilogram capacity (255 short tons). Although this is a big truck, the 830E's load capacity is about 66% the capacity of the Liebherr T 282C and Caterpillar 797B.

This is an electric truck and is being featured in many new mining operations as well established mines in WA and QLD.

The electric drive system is very different fromt the transmission/differential drive of traditional trucks. The diesel engine is connected to a GE traction alternator with high voltage cables transfering electricity to the two wheel motors at the rear of the truck.
