Working as part of the survey team on an 8 on 6 off roster with FIFO support from Brisbane (for the right candidate), you will be able to display your surveying knowledge and assist in delivering best practice to 2017 Mine of the Year. They are seeking a Surveyor who is looking to gain further experience in the underground environment or work towards their registration.

Reporting to the Registered Mine Surveyor, you will work as part of the survey team and assist in delivering best practice surveying services to Moranbah North Mine. You will ensure effective communication between all stakeholders and maintain strong relationships across all departments. As well as providing underground survey services and drafting and updating mine plans you will provide reporting that is transparent, verified and timely.
Your well-developed communication and influencing skills will be key to your success in this role with multiple stakeholders. You will provide surface and underground survey services including drafting, updating mine plans, planning and assisting with projects. Your ability to provide accurate, transparent, verified and timely reporting is key.
To be successful in the role you will hold tertiary qualifications in Surveying. Previous experience in underground coal mining operations would be a distinct advantage. You will be committed to safety and have an ability to work independently and as part of a team. Your well-developed communication and influencing skills will be key to your success in this role.

Resources and Infrastructure Industry (RII)
Commonly refered to as Black Coal Competency (BCC), the RII competency is one that can be attained by an operator who has previously worked in the industry and has completed a number of operating hours on various types of machinery.
RII competency is granted to prove correct and safe operation of mine site machinery. It is a very useful qualification to have, as it confirms the operator has the required experience and expertise.
