Mine Surveyor – Capcoal Surface Operations (Middlemount, QLD)

Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, you will be responsible for coordinating daily surveying activities for Capcoal Surface Operations; including survey pickups/set-outs using Maptek I-Site, GPS and theodolite equipment, data reduction, survey controls and end-of-month volumetric calculations, reconciliation and reporting. You will be an active team-player in the Technical Services Department and will work closely with the Mining Operations Departments to provide accurate survey data to the mine. You will also be involved with geotechnical scans (high density) and working on proactive safety initiatives in the mining pits.

To be successful in this role, you will have tertiary qualifications in Surveying, as well as field experience in open cut mining operations, preferably coal. Exposure to Autocad, Minex, Deswick or similar mining software will be highly regarded as would experience with UAV technology. It would also be an advantage to have, or to be working toward, a surveying registration endorsement of mining ‘O’.
