Mechanical Engineer – Grosvenor Mine, Moranbah QLD

Reporting to the Engineering Superintendent, you will work on a wide range of business critical projects. This will include extensive project management activities, design and development of technical specifications, managing the completion of projects to ensure each task is carried out in a safe and efficient manner, monitoring the planning and scheduling of projects and carrying out reviews.

You will ideally have tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering as well as previous project management experience in underground coal mining and exceptional leadership skills. The role will be initially focused on delivery of improvement projects and will also involve various longwall, development and other capital and major operating expenditure projects in the medium term depending on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.

You will be familiar with a range of surface & underground equipment including conveyors, pump stations and sumps as well as experience with development, mobile and longwall equipment. Demonstrated experience leading a team of professionals to deliver against set targets will be key to your success in this role as will a track record in driving continuous improvement.

You will also need to demonstrate a commitment to the ZERO Harm philosophy we have at Anglo American Coal..This is a permanent position, on a Monday to Friday roster based in Moranbah, QLD.
