Mechanical Engineer – Capcoal Surface Operations
Capcoal Surface Operations has a vacancy within its Engineering and Maintenance Department for a Mechanical Engineer.
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent you will be required to provide mechanical engineering support to our open cut operations.
Your KPI’s will be to ensure a safe and efficient operation , making sure targets are achieved. Further, you will manage some of the big projects, purchases and contracts, and ensure budgets are stuck to to achieve production and cost targets.
To be successful in this role, you will hold a tertiary degree in Engineering (or a related discipline) as well as demonstrated experience in an open-cut mining environment with previous exposure to draglines, shovels and hydraulic excavators.
Experience with shutdowns and project management will be advantageous.
You will of course have exceptional communication skills and the ability to liaise with people at all levels of the operation. As Anglo American’s coal business is dedicated to achieving Zero Harm, a strong commitment to HSE standards is a prerequisite.
