Maintenance Fitter and Mechanical Heavy Mobile Coal Mine Job

Maintenance Fitter Mechanical Mobile Coal Mining Toowoomba QLD-iMINCO.net Mining Information

New Acland Coal Mine is currently seeking 2 x Maintenance Fitters to join New Acland Maintenance Team on 18-month fixed term contracts.

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in heavy earthmoving equipment;
  • Conduct preventative and scheduled maintenance tasks on mobile mining equipment; and
  • Complete relevant paperwork as required and participate in site health and safety procedures

The successful candidate will require the following skills and experience:

  • Hold a relevant trade qualification
  • Previous experience in a similar role or having worked with heavy earthmoving equipment (desirable)
  • Ability to conduct the diagnostic troubleshooting
  • Proficient abilities in the maintenance and repair of heavy mobile earthmoving equipment and support equipment, including Caterpillar and Hitachi
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills within a team environment
  • Previous experience with large diesel engines, hydraulic systems, drive trains and system troubleshooting /diagnostics; and
  • The ability to work autonomously and in a team environment, while delivering timely and effective outcomes.
