Underground Mining Operations – Longwall Coordinator – Capcoal

Longwall Mining Operations Coordinator – Grasstree Mine

The operations coordinator will be in charge of implementing and delivering plans, meeting agreed budgets and optimizing coal production performance of the mine.

Reporting to the Longwall Superintendent you will contribute to the business by coordinating Longwall operations activities for the week. This will include coordinating the planning process in collaboration with Maintenance Coordinators and other support functions ensuring these are in alignment with 24 hour and 7 day plans.

You will also ensure that effective communications are maintained at each shift regarding the plan, performance targets, production issues and start of shift briefings. Additionally you will work to provide continuous improvement to the Longwall function by providing effective auditing services of the implementation plans and leadership through the development of techniques to improve the cutting process.

You will interact with the mechanical and electrical coordinator for the process, drive continuous improvement and have a strong focus on safety. To be successful in this role you will have to have a minimum five years experience working in underground coal mines, preferably in Longwall or Development. You will have proven communication skills and have acted in a supervisory or leading hand role previously.

Deputy qualifications are desirable but not mandatory. Applicants with mechanical or electrical background are welcome to apply. This is a 7on 7off position, based in Middlemount, QLD with various travel options, including FIFO and subsidized housing for the successful candidates.
