Barminco Ltd is currently seeking suitably experienced LV Mechanics for position at Dugald River Mine Site based in Regional Queensland on a family friendly 2/2 roster.

Light Vehicle Fitter Mine Site Underground Mining Queensland-iMINCO.net Mining Information

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Undertake preventative, scheduled maintenance and repairs / improvements to all Light, medium mobile equipment and various mobile units
  • Unscheduled breakdown repairs, light equipment recovery
  • Ensure a safe workplace through daily inspections for hazards
  • Diagnose faults and recommend repairs / improvements
  • Perform maintenance according company standards and work instructions
  • Maintain critical maintenance data on a daily basis
  • Be proactive in all preventative maintenance procedures to ensure quality repairs are maintained.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Mechanical or LV Fitting trade certificate
  • Strong communication skills
  • Minimum C Class Australian Drivers License
  • Ability to obtain a national police clearance
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Ability to pass a full pre-employment medical and random drug/alcohol testing when required
  • Ability to work autonomously/independently with limited supervision
  • The ability to diagnose and fault find low voltage electrics
  • Demonstrated abilities to work within a team environment
  • Previous experience working within the mining industry
  • Commitment to safety.

Resources and Infrastructure Industry (RII)

Commonly refered to as Black Coal Competency (BCC), the RII competency is one that can be attained by an operator who has previously worked in the industry and has completed a number of operating hours on various types of machinery.

RII competency is granted to prove correct and safe operation of mine site machinery. It is a very useful qualification to have, as it confirms the operator has the required experience and expertise.
