CoreStaff are searching to hire Laboratory Technicians for work in the Mackay & Coalfields region.

About *Laboratory Technician Jobs Mackay:

You will be responsible for onsite coal sampling, preparation and analysis in the Coal Processing department. You will also be uploading results and report on analysis results to key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have effective communication skills and should be proactive with excellent time management skills.

Skills & Experience:

To be successful you will have:

  • A Coal Board Medical (or willing to obtain)
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Standard 11 Induction Training (or willing to obtain)
  • 3 Years Coal Lab Experience on a Mine Site
  • Previous experience with Site information reporting systems will be highly regarded.

Their client is a blue chip mining company with several mines located in the Bowen Basin (QLD). Due to increased production and positive growth projections they are seeking experienced Laboratory Technicians to join their team.

About the Bowen Basin

The Bowen Basin contains the largest coal reserves in Australia. This major coal producing region contains one of the world’s largest deposits of bituminous coal.

The Basin contains much of the known Permian coal resources in Queensland including virtually all of the known mineable prime coking coal. It was named for the Bowen River, itself named after Queensland’s first Governor, Sir George Bowen.

The Bowen Basin covers an area of over 60,000 square kilometres in Central Queensland running from Collinsville to Theodore and is dotted with many coal mines operated by multiple mining companies.
