Looking for 4x HD Fitters for 7:7 roster, $60ph long term permanent work

Heavy Diesel Fitter Mine Site DIDO Emerald <strong>Bowen Basin</strong>

  • Only 16 weeks probation period before going over to perm position
  • 7:7 roster – DIDO Emerald, Blackwater, Rockhampton
  • Accommodation & meals provided + super & holidays & sick leave

One of Australia’s largest pure-coal producers. Currently employs about 5.500 people across Australia and sources most of their staff from the local communities in which it operates.

The Project & Roster

Currently searching for 4 heavy diesel fitters on a mine site in the lower Bowen Basin. Lifestyle friendly roster DIDO from Blackwater, Emerald, Rockhampton & Gladstone.

Good accommodation at camp with your own room and bathroom and meals included.

This open cut coal project is located about 1h from Blackwater. You will be working 7 days on, 7 days off both day and night shift which are 10.5h shifts.

Long term contract going over permanently with the client after a short probation period, working with a crew of experienced tradesmen.

The Pay & Benefits

Attractive $60 p/a + Super along with annual leave and other company benefits such as training and career development.

The Duties & Machinery

Your 3-4+ years experience working on open cut coal equipment will put you in a good position with your demands in the workshop & in the field. The ability to work in a team and autonomously will be essential in their role.

You will need experience on CAT 996, D10, D11, 24H, 24M & Komatsu 830E.

About the Bowen Basin mining region, Queensland.

The Queensland Bowen Basin contains the largest coal reserves in Australia. This major coal producing region contains one of the world’s largest deposits of bituminous coal.

The Basin contains much of the known Permian coal resources in Queensland including virtually all of the known mineable prime coking coal. It was named for the Bowen River, itself named after Queensland’s first Governor, Sir George Bowen.

Komatsu 830E Haul Truck

The Komatsu 830E is an ultra class dump truck used in Australian open pit mining operations an is designed and built in Peoria, Illinois by Komatsu America Corporation (parent company is the Japanese held company Komatsu Ltd.

The Komatsu 830E is a beast, with 231,000 kilogram capacity (255 short tons). Although this is a big truck, the 830E's load capacity is about 66% the capacity of the Liebherr T 282C and Caterpillar 797B.

This is an electric truck and is being featured in many new mining operations as well established mines in WA and QLD.

The electric drive system is very different fromt the transmission/differential drive of traditional trucks. The diesel engine is connected to a GE traction alternator with high voltage cables transfering electricity to the two wheel motors at the rear of the truck.
