The Mining Expo for the Gold Coast will arrive on Wednesday 19th October. Expos are free to attend, but you do need to register your interest for this or any of the upcoming Work for Queensland Mining and Gas Jobs Expos, by going to the SKILLS QUEENSLAND website
The Gold Coast expo will take place at the Gold Coast Convention Centre Gold Coast Highway, Broadbeach and will be open from 10:00 until 16:00. You can arrive at any time to wander around and speak with exhibitors. Peak times are expected to be between noon and 14:00, so adjust your schedule to suit needs.
No registration is required to attend any of the three information sessions, each of which will be offered at all expo locations. The session times for the Gold Coast expo are as follows:
- Pathways and employment opportunities in energy and gas sector – Energy Skills Queensland, 10:15 and 13:15
- Pathways and employment opportunities in the resources industry – Mining Industry Skills Centre, 11:15 and 14:15
- Construction roles needed in the resources industry – Construction Skills Queensland 12:15 and 15:15
Mining and gas companies require both skilled and semi-skilled workers to fill a range of jobs. Information on the types of jobs and career options in the resources sector will be available. You`ll also find out what`s required to access opportunities. Currently, occupations in demand include: diesel fitters, drillers along with assistants, welders, process plant operators, metal fitters and machinists
Resources sector training providers will be on hand to talk about construction roles needed in the resources industry along with training options available.
