Macmahon Holdings has been awarded the Gladstone LNG civil works sub contract in Queensland by Bechtel Australia.

The contract consists of site preparation for the plant on the south west side of Curtis Island, near Gladstone.

The work is worth over $150 million.

Macmahon CEO Nick Bowen said “this LNG project is an important development for Queensland and the Australian resources sector.”

The contractor`s work on the site will begin immediately and will finish in late 2012.
