UGL provides end-to-end outsourced engineering, construction, asset management and maintenance services with a diversified end-market exposure across the core sectors of Rail, Transport & Technology systems, Engineering and Construction and Asset Services.

They are seeking applications from highly motivated, skilled and safety focused individuals to work within Float Crew in QLD’s Bowen Basin mines.

To be successful in obtaining a position, you must provide evidence of the following:

  • Relevant Qualifications (Trade Cert / Electrical License)
  • Current Standard 11 Induction Training/BMA (SOA) – essential
  • Current Coal Board Medical (Section 4) – essential
  • Current Working at Heights & Confined Space (SOA) – essential
  • Demonstrated mine site or heavy industry experience

These positions may suit Electricians that are happy work at various sites for shorter periods of time due to their other commitments.
 
Please note, although accommodation will be provided for the duration of site work, these roles are NOT FIFO. Candidates must be prepared to make their own way to site.

About the Bowen Basin mining region, Queensland.

The Queensland Bowen Basin contains the largest coal reserves in Australia. This major coal producing region contains one of the world’s largest deposits of bituminous coal.

The Basin contains much of the known Permian coal resources in Queensland including virtually all of the known mineable prime coking coal. It was named for the Bowen River, itself named after Queensland’s first Governor, Sir George Bowen.

The Bowen Basin covers a total area of over 60,000 square kilometres and is located in Central Queensland; running from Collinsville to Theodore. The entire region is home to many coal mines operated by multiple mining companies.
