Fixed Plant Maintenance Technician Fitter/Turner

Chinova Resources Pty Ltd is an Australian resource company with principal activities focused in North‐West Queensland. The company has existing copper and gold operations south of Cloncurry, as well as a number of development projects and significant exploration activity on a large tenement holding in the area. Their goal is to build a profitable multi‐mine, mid‐tier mining company based initially on tenements in the Cloncurry region.

Based on a remote site and reporting to the Supervisor Maintenance-Fixed Plant, you will need to demonstrate your ability to work as part of team responsible for routine preventative and breakdown maintenance of all surface fixed plant and infrastructure.

You will have high standards of performance, excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, adopt a proactive approach to OHS ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and company policies and practices – reporting all safety hazards/risks and incidents – demonstrating a committed and conscious effort towards the health and safety of yourself and others on site at all times.

Fixed Plant Mining Maintenance Technician Fitter Turner QLD

To be successful in this role you MUST

Trade qualified and hold a Cert III Engineering Mechanical Trade (Fitting/Turning)—with a minimum of 5 years’ experience on a variety of fixed plant equipment in a mining crushing and processing environment, together with a manual “C” Class driver’s license.

Both confined space and working at heights training along with demonstrated metalliferous mechanical exposure to jaw and cone crushers, screening plants, grinding (rod and ball mills), conveyors, and various stand-alone plants including RO plant, sewerage plant, concrete batching and bore fields, will be advantageous.

Requiring an immediate start this position is full time working 8 days on and 6 days off FIFO roster from Townsville, therefore preference is for applicants who are currently residing in the Townsville area.  Selection process will involve telephone interviews, site interviews and a pre-employment medical.
